You will guard her and keep her in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because she commits herself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. Isaiah 26:3, AMP
As you can see, I made this text personal for me. It has been my “go to” text for a long time, but I bet you agree with me that it’s hard to find peace. Our days are filled with boisterous children, honking horns, barking dogs and we haven’t even gotten home yet. Home. Yes, a place of peace? Not always. Turn on the evening news to hear that we don’t have global peace either. We can’t get along with one another.
According to the scripture above, peace is possible IF our minds stay on Christ: leaning on Him, hoping in Him and every morning committing ourselves to Him. Hard to do, you say? Give it a try. Perhaps the din of the day will recede into the background allowing you to have perfect peace in your heart.
