I have a giant, jagged hole in my heart. A bullet didn’t do it, but it might as well have. Suicide did it. One of my children is dead . . . his choice. And we’ll never be the same again. Not as long as we live on this earth.
People say we have changed and rightly so. One cannot experience tragedy and not change. One cannot go back and undo what has happened, therefore we are never the same again.
Our story may be different from yours, but we all have the same deep longing in our hearts. No matter the pain in our lives nothing we try: not food or drugs or business or any other distraction will fill that hole. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says so:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]…” Amplified Bible
How about you, friend? Does this make sense? Did you realize that you were created for eternal purposes and your heart longs to be fed from your Creator? I would love to hear your thoughts. Blessings, Gracie
